After chatting to a colleague today about the problems of joining fibre optic in an installation, I came across a short but useful article about fibre optic termination.
Whilst fibre is a fabulous method of passing data from one place to the next, it is no simple matter to connect two fibres together. Not usually a problem for most people but for an installation with long runs between floors, or in a specialist set up – like a film grading SAN room – there are a occasions where connecting two fibres together is a necessity.
